“Transcriptomic analysis of avian digits reveals conserved and derived digit identities in birds”

Our next meeting of the philosophy of biology reading group will be this Tuesday, October 18. As always, we will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the second floor lounge of the West Duke Building on East Campus.
We will discuss a paper by Wang, Young, Xue, and Günter Wagner published in Nature: “Transcriptomic analysis of avian digits reveals conserved and derived digit identities in birds.” For background, I’ve included a previous paper of Wagner’s on the same subject. The discussion should focus on the new paper and the question of whether it shows a shift from the previous paper.
